Practice Development and Consultancy Service

Our services include practice appraisal visits to establish practice strengths and requirements, detailed feedback and action plans, guidance documents and templates, staff training solutions, individual tailored needs for practices.

We can assist and guide practices in the development of an action plan, progression through the plan and to maintain standards. Including:

Practice appraisal – A full or part appraisal of the practice.

Looking at and appraising documents & policies, procedures, equipment & facilities, staffing etc.   including verbal and written feedback report & action plan.  A practice appraisal can be extremely beneficial when preparing for CQC visits, NHS inspection, tendering for contracts, change management, new ownership, selling a practice or just as a best practice audit etc.

CQC consultation and organisation/application work.

Bespoke options depending on requirements.
Initial practice appraisal visit.  (To establish what a practice has in place already, what can be improved and what needs to be introduced).  During the visit: Policies, procedures, documentation, buildings and equipment, health and safety, staffing, procedures etc. will be appraised in line with the CQC requirements.  Following the visit, a report and a detailed action plan will be given.  At this point, we can discuss the action plan with you and you can decide how you want to proceed from the options below. Obviously when choosing the best option, it will depend on the appraisal visit feedback and which option suites the practice best.

  • Option 1: The Focus and Progress Company LTD. completing the full extent of the work and providing policies and procedures.
  • Option 2: A combination. of both you as a practice, and Focus and Progress both completing the action plan by deciding on areas that you can tackle and areas that we need to help
  • Option 3: The practice completing the action plan themselves with no further input from Focus and Progress. 
  • Option 4: Purchase Policies and procedure documents produced by Focus and Progress specifically for your practice and in line with current guidelines. (This option can be combined with any of the above).

Facilitated forums – For Managers/Dentists/ Hygienists, Therapists/Dental nurses

What is a facilitated open forum? This is not a lecture or a teaching session.  Open forums are designed for a group of people who are like minded/similar interest/ role to discuss real and relevant issues and for everyone present to be included and participate as little or as much as they like in discussions, question and answer, ideas and experience sharing and all of the above. What is the facilitator’s role? To direct the session towards positive & productive outcomes by     channelling ideas, issues & questions, opening discussions while encourage participants to feel valued & ensure everyone benefits from the session.  It is strongly encouraged to suggest topics prior to the forum for the session to have the best effect. The facilitator will adapt the agenda according to suggestions received.  The most popular suggestions will have priority.
